His name!

Thomas Alexander Culp est time of arrival August 28, 2009!

I have officially decided on our little boy's name. (Let the monogramming begin!--totally kidding.)
I have known for a long time that if it was a boy (and I knew he was a boy, in my heart, all along) that I would use 'Thomas' and 'Alexander.' I just did not know in what order. Obviously, his first name, Thomas, is named after his daddy. His middle name, Alexander, was named by his dad last year!
I remember vividly that Thomas, Caroline and I went to eat (for the first time) at Rick's Iron Skillet in Fayetteville for breakfast after church. (We had planned to go to Denny's with all of our friends and family from church, but we forgot that Bikes, Blues and Barbecue was just ending that day and they had taken over most of the breakfast places in town! So we were at Rick's. We had wanted to try it for a while, so it was a good second option.)
Randomly, I was not pregnant...yet, Thomas said, "If we have a boy, I want to name him Alexander." I was surprised that he had been even thinking about names, but I totally agreed that it was a great name.
So after the accident, I knew it was a boy and I knew I would use Alexander (Daddy Thomas' name is Allen and so they have the same initials!) I just wasn't sure in what order to use the names. After a few prayers and a few days, it just stuck with me. It has to be Thomas Alexander. It sounds great and it brings me comfort and excitement to call our baby Thomas (or "LT" for Little Thomas as Uncle Travis is calling him.) Caroline already pats my belly says his name very clearly. She also prayed (on her own volition) for baby Jett and baby Thomas a few nights ago.

Aunt Becky and I having fun...Baby Thomas egg
Baby Jett egg...only three weeks until 'hatching!'
Our church put on an awesome Easter extravaganza for the kids. It is so fun at this age. She loves it all. (After posting this I have vowed not take any more pics from the side.)
Our friend, Lakyn, enjoying the slide at church.
Friends, Sara and Autumn, enjoying the sights.
Caroline's favorite part, the "jumping house" as she calls it. When we went to church the next day (real Easter day) she immediately asked where the jumping house went!
Coloring eggs together!
We had a great Easter weekend with fun times and some sad times, but we did it! I cannot imagine living life without the joy and victory we have in Jesus.

  15. Yay! Great name! You may not remember this, but I remember talking to you about baby names back when I was just barely pregnant with Vivi. We were at Todd's wedding reception and we both talked about how we each loved the name Thomas for a little boys name. I'm glad you're getting a chance to actually use it! He will be a blessed little boy with a mommy as firm as you are in your beliefs and love for the Lord. I pray for you everyday and think of you more than that!

  17. I love the picture with the egg! You need to mate and frame that photo for his room. I pray his name and his legacy will be one that brings you hope, comfort, and years of joy. There is no doubt that little Thomas will be a blessing in the flesh and that his daddy will live on through him. I believe this because I see one just like him through my nephew. When God takes away he always gives back. God is good all the time; all the time God is good!

  20. I love the name. I was secretly hoping for a Thomas. :) (I have always loved that name anyway...tried really hard to get Joshua to be "Tomas", the Spanish version) I also love how God orchestrated it that you and Thomas would have this impromptu converation about names long before little Thomas was even forming. What a beautiful gift. I love the pictures too. See you soon!

  37. Bonnie,
I think I told you before but I don't know for sure; I knew Thomas' Dad when he worked at St. Edward in Fort Smith. His brother Skipper was a close friend of my daughter Margie
    Weller.
God moves in mysterious ways; just this week you have been on my mind and in my prayers frequently and I kept thinking I wanted to hear from you how you were doing, etc. Then Keisha Newberry (my grand daughter-in-love; I don't say law),
posted about you on her blog.
I pray for you so often as I know thousands of people do. I have my prayer list on my frig and I go there pretty often and each time the people get prayed for.
I love the name you have picked for your precious son; he will be so proud someday to realize he carries daddy's name.
I pray you GGT Test turned out good this time. You'll have to excuse the Nana that is how I blog with Keisha and Allen.
    Sincerely
    Sarah Weller
